                                          STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE

                                     SUSPICIOUS DEATH AT ROCKY HILL VETS HOME

Today 06/06/06 shortly after 7:30 a.m. an employee of the Rocky Hill Veterans Home entered the auditorium building and found an unresponsive male inside the building. The employee contacted EMS and Security personnel were summoned and responded to the scene.  EMS pronounced the male subject deceased at the scene. Security personnel secured the area. 

State Police Troopers and Central District Major Crime Detectives responded to conduct a criminal investigation into this incident. State Police Detectives are processing the scene gathering physical evidence and documenting the scene.   The deceased was not a resident of the facility.  He last resided there in 1999.

The deceased is approximately 58 years old and has been tentatively identified by Detectives but his identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.  The Office of the Chief State’s Medical examiner will conduct a post mortem examination of the deceased to determine the exact manner and cause of death.

This death is presently deemed suspicious, as the death appears to be from other than from natural causes. 

The State Police investigation is continuing
