State Police Major Crime and FBI to Assist

Newtown Police in Bank Robbery

       On Tuesday, November 14, 2006 the Newtown Police Department responded to an armed bank robbery at the Western Connecticut Credit Union on Route 34 (exact address is 15 Berkshire Road) in Newtown.

       Three perpetrators entered the Credit Union and stole an undetermined amount of cash and the purse of one of the employees.

        The pursue was subsequently recovered off of exit 17 on I84 in Middlebury.

The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad and the F.B.I. have assigned investigators to assist the Newtown Police.
