                                                  STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE

                                           ASSAULT IN NEW FAIRFIELD

On 07/20/06 shortly after 2:30 a.m. State Police Troop-A received a 911 call reporting that there were two injured people in a car at the Ball Pond Fire Station in New Fairfield. It was reported that both people had suffered stab wounds and were in need of medical attention.

State Troopers, Town Officers, and EMS personnel responded to the Ball Pond Fire House. Two injured male victims were located in front of the firehouse in a private vehicle. Emergency Care was provided at the scene and both were transported by ambulance to Danbury Hospital Emergency Room. Both subjects were reported to be in serious condition.

State Troopers initiated a criminal investigation and obtained preliminary investigative information from both injured parties. Troopers determined that the two had been involved in an altercation with a male subject at 8 Bantam Rd in New Fairfield. During that altercation these subjects were injured.

State Troopers responded to 8 Bantam Rd New Fairfield to check for further injuries and to continue the criminal investigation. Troopers at the scene placed the accused under arrest and took him into custody.  The accused was transported to Troop-A where he was processed and held on bail to appear in court. 

ACCUSED: GALLAGHER, Sean   DOB: 5/30/88

                    8 Bantam Rd.

                    New Fairfield, Ct.

CHARGES: Assault 1st (2cts)

The accused is being held on $ 500,000 bond to appear at GA # 3 in Danbury today 07/20/06.

The criminal investigation into this incident is continuing.
