Extension Approved for HMGP Applicants untill September 27, 2019

The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security is pleased to announce an additional extension of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) application period until September 27, 2019. This extension will enable applicants more time to submit their applications to the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Hazard Mitigation Unit. This round of HMGP funding is provided by FEMA as a result of two recent Major Disaster Declarations, DR 4385 and DR 4410, DEMHS will serve as the administering agency of these federal pass-through funds.

This funding will be used to help communities within Connecticut implement hazard mitigation measures following a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration in the areas of the state, tribe, or territory requested by the Governor or Tribal Executive. The key purpose of this grant program is to enact mitigation measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from future disasters.

Please feel free to take advantage of the Benefit Cost Tool training day listed below, this is an opportunity for everyone to learn the BCA tool while completing the required BCA for their specific application with help from the FEMA experts in the room.
