The Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) is pleased to announce the extension of the project application period for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) until July 26, 2019. This funding is provided by FEMA as a result of two recent Major Disaster Declarations, DR 4385 and DR 4410, DEMHS will serve as the administering agency of these federal pass-through funds.

This funding will be used to help communities within Connecticut implement hazard mitigation measures following a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration in the areas of the state, tribe, or territory requested by the Governor or Tribal Executive. The key purpose of this grant program is to enact mitigation measures that reduce the risk of loss of life and property from future disasters.
