Minutes of the Meeting of January 15, 2016

The Criminal Justice Commission met on Friday, January 15, 2016, to conduct interviews for the positions of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Litchfield, Geographical Area (G.A.) 18; Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Danbury; and any other business that may come before the Commission.

The meeting was called to order at 9:25 a.m. by The Honorable Richard N. Palmer, Chair.

In attendance were: The Honorable Juliett Crawford, Attorney Mary M. Galvin, Attorney Maura H. Horan, Attorney Moy N. Ogilvie, and Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane.

Also present: State’s Attorney David S. Shepack, Judicial District of Litchfield; Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Warren C. Murray on behalf of State’s Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky III, Judicial District of Danbury; and Human Resources/Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist Ngina McMillian.

Attorney Horan made a motion, seconded by Attorney Ogilvie, to approve the minutes of the meeting of December 1, 2015. The motion passed unanimously. Members reviewed and accepted proposed meeting dates for the remainder of this calendar year.

The Commission interviewed the following for the position of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Litchfield, G.A. 18: Lisamaria Proscino, Leland Moore, Dennis Mancini, Jacqueline McMahon, and Gregory L. Borrelli. Attorney Borrelli applied for and was a finalist as well for the opening in the Judicial District of Danbury; this interview served for both positions.

After a brief recess at 10:39 a.m., the interviews resumed at 10:47 a.m. At 12:45 p.m., the Commission also interviewed Sarah Fallon, Jonathan D. Lewin, and Grayson C. Holmes for the Danbury position.

Attorney Horan made a motion to go into executive session at 2:15 p.m. to discuss the appointments. The motion was seconded by Judge Crawford and passed unanimously.

The Commission resumed its public meeting at 2:19 p.m. Attorney Horan moved for the appointment of Attorney Gregory L. Borrelli as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Litchfield, G.A 18. Attorney Galvin seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Attorney Horan moved for the appointment of Attorney Jonathan D. Lewin as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury. Attorney Galvin seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
