AG Tong Statement on Nomination of California AG Xavier Becerra to Lead Health and Human Services
(Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong issued the following statement regarding the nomination of California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to serve as Secretary of Health and Human Services.“No one is fighting harder right now to protect our access to affordable healthcare than Xavier Becerra. He is battle tested, ready to lead, and an outstanding choice for Secretary of Health and Human Services,” said Attorney General Tong. “It has been an honor to work alongside General Becerra to defend the Affordable Care Act and to protect equitable access to healthcare free from discrimination and partisan interference. I look forward to continuing that partnership to ensure all Americans have access to the safe, affordable care they need and deserve.”
