"We gather to reflect on their service, and remind ourselves of everything that they and their families have given in service to our country. We are grateful and humbled." – Former Lt. Governor Wyman

wall of honor 2

The Connecticut Wall of Honor is a tribute to members of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since September 11, 2001.

Located in the concourse between the State Capitol and the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, the memorial contains a photo of each service member and a brass plate bearing their name, hometown, branch of service, and the year and location of their death.

Former Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, during her tenure as the State Comptroller, and Hartford radio host Brad Davis established the tribute in 2007. Each year in May, they host a ceremony to honor the military men and women on the Wall who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms and the security of our nation.
