Making a Freedom Of Information (FOI) Request Through CTDOT

Overview

The Connecticut Freedom of Information Act gives you the right to obtain records from CTDOT and attend certain meetings of public agencies. Check out our GovQA online FOI request form here.

How To

CTDOT has implemented an online FOI management system called GovQA. This system has features that will help our agency process the request in a more efficient manner. Use this link to enter your request.

If you have questions about using GovQA or making a records request, please first click on the GovQA link and read the FAQs and if you have further questions, send an email to Alice.Sexton@ct.gov.  Members of the press should submit their questions to CTDOTMedia@ct.gov, but requests for public records of CTDOT via GovQA.

Fees/Payment

If you use GovQA for records request, and opt for electronic records, in most cases there will be no fee.

The fees for hard copies are as follows:

  • For plain letter or legal-size copies: $.25 per side of page
  • For larger format documents, the fees are $2.22 for a full-sized (2’x3’) plan sheet; and $0.56 for a quarter-plan sheet
  • Under certain circumstances, we can also charge for computer programming and related time, but we cannot charge for the time it takes to make paper copies.

Payments can be made by check or money order payable to: Treasurer, State of Connecticut.
