Climate & Equity Grant Program

Applications close 9/30!

In collaboration with CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation (CIRCA) requests grant proposals for projects that increase the capacity of vulnerable communities to mitigate, plan for, and respond to climate change impacts. This funding supports the recommendations of the Governor’s Council on Climate Change (GC3). This grant program is open to community-based organizations, tribal governments, and tribal organizations. Funds can be used for planning, capacity-building, or education projects that advance community-scale climate adaptation and/or climate mitigation efforts. You can learn more on CIRCA's website.

Electric Bicycle (eBike) Incentive Program

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has launched the second round of its popular eBike Voucher Program, offering Connecticut residents an opportunity to purchase a new electric bike with substantial incentives. Eligible residents can receive up to $1,250 in vouchers, with priority given to income-qualified individuals and those living in environmental justice communities. The application portal is open now and will close on October 1, 2024, at 8 p.m. Be sure to apply early, as vouchers are awarded via a lottery system and will provide access to clean transportation options while improving air quality in Connecticut. DEEP Brownfields Grant Availability

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is pleased to announce the availability of funding under DEEP’s CERCLA 128(a) Grant Program, Round 2, and is inviting applicants that are municipalities or non-profit entities to apply. Applications will be accepted until noon on Friday, November 22, 2024, and awards will be announced in January 2025. To learn more and to access the application form, please visit DEEP’s website.

IRA Community Change Grant

EPA’s new Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grants program (Community Change Grants) has announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for approximately $2 billion dollars in Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funds in environmental and climate justice activities to benefit disadvantaged communities through projects that reduce pollution, increase community climate resilience, and build community capacity to address environmental and climate justice challenges. These place-based investments will be focused on community-driven initiatives to be responsive to community and stakeholder input. They are designed to deliver on the transformative potential of the IRA for communities most adversely and disproportionately impacted by climate change, legacy pollution, and historical disinvestments.
