Fathers Day 2020 Ideas/Resources

Family Ideas and Best Practices

Looking for a special way to show Dad you love him this Fathers Day? The way we have to do things might be different, but the love, care and concern is the same.  Here are a few ideas and resources to get you started as you consider how you'll show your Dad how much he means to you this Fathers Day.

Consider helping to establish a Care-A-Van

Coordinate efforts with your local nursing home, families and greater community to schedule a time to decorate your cars and parade for your loved ones! If you're posting your care-a-van to social media make sure to tag it to show others how to show Dad you love him while still keeping him safe.

Virtual Visitation

It is important to be able to connect with your Dad this Father's Day. When we can't be there in person, virtual visitations allow us to see and chat with our loved ones from a safe distance. Contact your nursing home to schedule your virtual visitation today. If you are having trouble connecting with your loved one, feel free to reach out to the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program so that we may be able to assist you in advocating to have these visits completed.
