About the Chief Executive Officer
Francis Giannini, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has over thirty years Community Based Behavioral Health experience in severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders. He started his career working as a counselor, case manager and then a supervisor in Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Chrysalis Center, a Private Not for Profit Agency in Hartford, then worked as a Research Associate doing addiction Psychotherapy Research at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry (DSA), before starting as a Clinical Social Worker at DMHAS at the CMHC/West Haven Mental Health Clinic. Fran was then promoted to YAS Supervising Clinician at DMHAS WCMHN – Torrington, and then transferred to DMHAS WCNHN-Danbury when he was promoted to Clinical Director. From there Fran was promoted to Associate Director at DMHAS SWCMHS and has recently been appointed CEO at DMHAS SWCMHS.

Fran has also worked as a group psychotherapist with those struggling with addictions in Private Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Substance Use Treatment Programs within the State of CT. Overall, Fran has over twenty-five years Supervisory/Management experience and has worked as an educator, clinical and administrative supervisor and systems change agent to promote a person-centered, strengths-based approach to clinical care, with a focus on the enhancement of organizational excellence.
