Assisting Suppliers on How to Do Business with the State

The Myth about the List

Suppliers frequently call state agencies wanting to be added to the “List” or the “Approved List” so they can sell their goods and services to state agencies.

Some refer to a state contract as an “approved vendor list” because agencies are required to make their purchases from suppliers on current state contracts. To get on state contract, suppliers must participate in the competitive process and be awarded a contract.

When a vendor calls inquiring how they can do business with your agency please refer them to the section of our website on doing business with the state.
