Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the Connecticut Department of Public Health is partnering with the Connecticut chapters of nine historically African American, Greek-lettered fraternities and sororities to further combat COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and increase access to the vaccine within the state’s Black and Brown communities.

Governor Lamont Announces Connecticut Exceeds Five-Year Goal for Increasing Diversity in the Educator Workforce
Governor Ned Lamont today announced over the last five years, school districts in Connecticut have hired more than 1,900 educators of color, exceeding the goal set by the State Board of Education to increase the number of educators of color by 10% – approximately 1,000 positions – between 2017 and 2021.
Governor Lamont’s primary objective is to get Connecticut’s economy growing again – focusing on extending opportunity for those left behind, providing long-term solutions to fix the budget, and attracting the next generation of talent to Connecticut.
