The CT Department of Agriculture (DOAG) received a 2023 Organic Market Development Grant (OMDG) from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service to increase market access, consumer awareness, and consumer purchasing of CT Grown certified organic products.

A component of DOAG’s OMDG project was to complete a comprehensive market evaluation for CT Grown USDA certified organic products. Industry-facing and consumer-facing surveys were released and collected over 600 responses from April – June 2025. The survey results, collected data, market trends, consumer purchasing behavior, and other conclusions were summarized in the 2025 CT Organic Market Report

DOAG also collaborated on developing a CT Grown certified organic logo, in the same style as the existing CT Grown logo. The purpose of this logo is for certified organic farmers operating in the State of CT to set themselves apart and enhance their product packaging, websites, and social media, all for the purpose of increasing consumer awareness, knowledge, and purchases of CT Grown certified organic products.

CT farms wishing to utilize the CT Grown certified organic logo MUST be certified organic in order to do so. If you are certified organic and would like to receive the logo files, submit this form. Once the form is completed, a folder containing the logo files will be distributed via email within the following 48-72 hours.

If you are interested in utilizing the CT Grown certified organic logo, view the “Brand Guide” for tips on incorporating this logo into packaging labels while maintaining compliance with accredited organic certifying agents as well as the USDA.

It is also recommended that farmers enlist the support of UConn Extension’s Organic Outreach Specialist for successful integration of this logo on packaging materials and social media posts. Visit the “Branding and Marketing Consultations” tab to learn more about the extensive technical assistance services available and sign up for a consultation.
