The Museum of Connecticut History at the Connecticut State Library invites the public to a presentation about Connecticut women’s participation in the Revolutionary War on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Dr. Katherine Hermes, Publisher of Connecticut Explored, will share “Working for the Revolution: Patriot Women’s Lives During the War,” the results of her extensive research on the topic.

The Museum of Connecticut History at the Connecticut State Library invites the public to a special ceremony honoring Sergeant Stubby, the most decorated canine hero in American history, on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Sgt. Stubby served valiantly during World War I alongside his owner, Corporal J. Robert Conroy. The Museum recently commissioned a reproduction of Sgt. Stubby, which will be unveiled at a ceremony with remarks from U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal; Major General Francis Evon, Jr., Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard; and Curt Deane, grandson of Corporal Conroy.

The Museum of Connecticut History at the Connecticut State Library invites the public to a presentation about Revolutionary War prisoners in Connecticut on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Connecticut State Library employee Susan Bigelow will share “Foul Dungeons, Floating Prisons, and Forced Marches,” based on historical research she has conducted, including many resources from the State Library’s own extensive collection.
