WEDNESDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT RALLY TO PROTECT THE SAFETY NET; ANNOUNCES LEGISLATION TO PROTECT HOMEOWNERS DEALING WITH FORECLOSURE; WELCOMES ATTENDEES TO HARTFORD FOUNDATION FORUM

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will speak at a rally outside of the State Capitol building in Hartford on protecting the safety net of programs and services offered by the state's nonprofit community. The rally is hosted by the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits and the Connecticut Community Providers Association.

Later, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference in Hartford to announce legislation he is introducing to assist struggling homeowners frustrated by the mortgage foreclosure process. He will be joined by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Attorney General George Jepsen, Department of Banking Commission Howard F. Pitkin, and impacted homeowners.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will give welcoming remarks at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving's community-wide forum on efforts to enhance children's opportunities for success and narrowing the achievement gap.
