Gaining Access

To access Sitecore, you will need a Sitecore account. Credentials will be provided upon completion of a Sitecore training.

 

Initial Sitecore Login

NOTICE: Please note that the Sitecore login process changed as of June 6, 2020. Please contact NIC CT at ci-customerservice@egov.com with any questions or issues logging in.

  1. Navigate to the Sitecore Log in screen at https://authoring.ct.egov.com/sitecore/.
  2. Select the State Agency User Login button. The Username and Password fields will no longer work.

  3. If you get a screen that shows your State email (firstname.lastname@ct.gov), then select the 'Use Another Account' option to enter your Sitecore username.

  4. From the Microsoft Sign in screen, enter in your new Sitecore username.
    •  NOTICE: Your username has changed from ct\firstname.lastname to firstname.lastname@ct.egov.com.

  5. Enter in your Sitecore password, which is the one you have now.

  6. You will then be asked to Stay Signed In. Select either Yes or No.
  • If you select Yes, your username will be saved and you will not need to enter it the next time you log in.
  • If you select no, you will be prompted to enter your username the next time you log in.

Once logged in, you will be directed to either your Agency website landing page or the Sitecore Experience Platform, depending upon your role.

 

Ongoing Sitecore Login

Once you have gone through this initial Sitecore login process, the next time you log in, the Microsoft Sign In screen will display your username.

  1. Select your username.

  2. Enter in your Sitecore password, which is the one you have now.

Once logged in, you will be directed to either your Agency website landing page or the Sitecore Experience Platform, depending upon your role.

 

Forgot Password
  1. From the Sitecore login screen, select the Forgot your Password? link
    OR visit https://egov.ct.gov/UserMgmt/Login.aspx and select the Forgot Password? link.

  2. Enter your email address and the reCaptcha challenge picture words.
    • The refresh icon gives you a new challenge picture words.
    • The audio icon speaks out the challenge picture words.

  3. Select the Send Password button and an email will be sent to you with a link to the User Management System to create a new password.
  4. Enter your new password in both fields. Passwords must
    • have at least a special character, such as !@#$%^&*()
    • have at least one number
    • be at least eight characters

  5. Select the Reset Password button.
  6. You will be prompted with a success screen when both passwords match and meet all requirements.
    • A confirmation email will also be sent to your email address.

Change Password

Sitecore passwords expire every 90 days. If your password does not change within that time, you will start receiving an email daily 14 days prior the expiration date containing a link to change your password.

  1. Go to https://egov.ct.gov/UserMgmt/Login.aspx.
  2. Enter your username and password and select the Log In button.

  3. Select Change Password under the Account Maintenance topic.

  4. Enter your current password and then a new password.
  5. Select the Change Password button.

  6. You will be prompted with a success screen when both passwords match and meet all requirements.
    • A confirmation email will also be sent to your email address.
