Buying a Used Car
Buying a used car is a financial commitment, and because there may be more repair costs associated with a used car than a new car, it’s important to protect yourself as much as possible financially. Be aware that used car dealers sometimes make claims about cars in order to make them more attractive, and increase sales. They may pressure you to make a decision “now”, or they will not be able to offer the “sale price”. Don’t make any financial decisions under pressure. Do your homework, it will pay off in the end.
Connecticut’s Used Car Warranty is for vehicles that were sold by a Connecticut dealer for at least $3,000, and are six years old or less and used for personal, family or household purposes.
If you paid between $3,000 and $5,000 the guarantee is in effect for 30 days. If you paid more than $5,000, the guarantee is in effect for 60 days after the purchase or the first 3,000 miles, whichever comes first.
