Governor Lamont Announces Strategic Partnership Between Bank of America and the Connecticut Office of Workforce Strategy
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the Connecticut Office of Workforce Strategy, in collaboration with Social Venture Partners Connecticut and supported by a generous grant from Bank of America, is hiring two new workforce strategy leaders to help execute the strategic vision for workforce development laid out in the Governor’s Workforce Council strategic plan, a guiding document that outlines initiatives centered on helping connect individuals with high-quality jobs in the state.

Governor Lamont Announces Breeze Airways Establishing Base at Bradley International Airport and Creating More Than 200 New Jobs in Connecticut
Governor Ned Lamont, Connecticut Airport Authority Executive Director Kevin Dillon, and Breeze Airways founder and CEO David Neeleman today announced that Breeze Airways has chosen Bradley International Airport as the location where the company will establish its fifth base of operations under a plan that includes the creation of more than 200 new jobs in Connecticut.

Governor Ned Lamont and Attorney General William Tong are urging the Connecticut General Assembly to adopt legislation the governor filed as part of his 2022 package of legislative proposals that will take the share of funding Connecticut is receiving from the recently approved $26 billion multistate agreements involving several pharmaceutical companies over their roles in creating and fueling the opioid epidemic and dedicate it towards evidence-based strategies that fight to eradicate the crisis.

Governor Lamont Activates Severe Cold Weather Protocol From Monday to Wednesday
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that as severe cold conditions are anticipated to impact Connecticut over the next couple of days with wind chill values dipping as low as zero, he is directing the state’s severe cold weather protocol to be activated beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, and remaining in effect through noon on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Governor Ned Lamont today joined Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) President Terrence Cheng, campus leaders, students, and manufacturers at a ceremony to launch the new Connecticut State Community College (CT State) Naugatuck Valley Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU).
