Governor Lamont and Connecticut State Department of Education Announce Recipients of 2023 and 2024 Summer Enrichment Grants
Governor Ned Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker today announced that 110 organizations in Connecticut are being awarded more than $13 million in grants to provide learning opportunities to children during the summers of 2023 and 2024 as part of the latest round of funding under the Connecticut Summer Enrichment Program.

Governor Lamont and Treasurer Russell Announce Connecticut Receives Credit Rating Upgrade From Kroll
Governor Ned Lamont and Treasurer Erick Russell today announced that they have received notification from Kroll Bond Rating Agency that the credit rating agency is upgrading the State of Connecticut’s General Obligation bond credit rating from AA (stable) to AA+ (stable), one step below the highest credit rating possible.

Governor Ned Lamont, Treasurer Erick Russell, Senate President Pro Tempore Martin Looney, House Speaker Matt Ritter, and State Senator Pat Billie Miller today announced that funding has been identified for CT Baby Bonds, a first-in-the-nation initiative that invests directly in Connecticut children born into poverty, that will allow the program to begin on-time and reduce the overall cost by over $200 million.

Governor Lamont Announces $3.7 Million in State Grants To Preserve 1,025 Acres of Open Space and Create Five New Community Gardens
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration is awarding approximately $3.7 million in state funding to aid in the purchase and protection of more than 1,025 acres of open space in 14 communities throughout Connecticut. Additionally, $46,875 will aid in the creation of five new community gardens and green spaces in a targeted investment community.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that – in accordance with a proclamation from President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. directing flags to be lowered throughout the country as a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the mass shooting in Allen, Texas on Saturday – he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to fly at half-staff effective immediately until sunset on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
