Governor Lamont Selects Josh Geballe to Chair the Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Authority, Appoints Three Members
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is naming Josh Geballe, Commissioner of the Department of Administrative Services (DAS), to serve as chairperson of the Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Authority’s board of directors. In addition, he is appointing Molly Weston Williamson, Henry J. Zaccardi, and Richard Duffy to serve as members.

Governor Lamont Directs Flags to Half-Staff Wednesday in Observance of 9/11 Anniversary
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 men, women, and children who were killed in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is re-appointing Matt Fleury to serve a second term as chair of the Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education (BOR). Fleury has served as BOR chair since 2016 and has been a member of the board since 2011.

Governor Lamont Says Connecticut Has Licensed 82 Hemp Growers Since Launch of New Pilot Program This Spring
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the State of Connecticut has licensed 82 hemp growers, 2 processors, and 21 manufacturers under a new pilot program he signed into law this spring allowing for the cultivation, harvesting, processing, and manufacturing of hemp plants and by-products in the state.

Governor Lamont and Coalition of Governors Urge Trump Administration to Reverse Proposal Disqualifying Millions of Low-Income Americans from Food Assistance
Governor Ned Lamont and a coalition of 16 other governors from states throughout the country today sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue voicing their opposition to a proposed rule that will change the way in which states are allowed to administer Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as food stamps.
