Governor Lamont Announces $1 Million Grant for I-95 Stamford Traffic and Bridge Safety Study
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the Connecticut Department of Transportation has been awarded a $1 million grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to support the state agency in a study it recently launched that is researching safety improvements that can be made on I-95 in Stamford.

Governor Lamont Directs Flags To Half-Staff in Honor of Fallen Bristol Police Officers
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags in Connecticut lowered to half-staff in honor of two officers from the Bristol Police Department who were shot and killed in the line of duty late last night while responding to a domestic violence situation involving family at a private residence in Bristol.

Governor Lamont Receives Omicron Bivalent COVID-19 Booster and Flu Shot, Encourages Connecticut Residents To Get the Added Protection as Winter Approaches
Governor Ned Lamont today visited a Connecticut Department of Public Health mobile vaccination van clinic in Hartford, where he was administered a dose of the recently authorized bivalent COVID-19 vaccine booster, which is designed to add protection against the Omicron variants of the virus and bolster previous vaccination protection. He also received his annual flu shot during the visit.

Governor Lamont Announces Significant Enrollment in Newly Launched CareerConneCT Job Training Initiative
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that more than 1,108 Connecticut residents have enrolled in CareerConneCT since the state’s newest and largest job training initiative, which is administered by the Connecticut Office of Workforce Strategy, began accepting applications in August.

Governor Lamont Reduces Drought Advisory for New London and Windham Counties to Stage 2
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that due to recent rainfall that has brought some relief to lower than normal conditions in the state, he is reducing the drought advisory that he declared in August for New London and Windham counties from a Stage 3 drought level to Stage 2. This change brings all eight of Connecticut’s counties to a Stage 2 drought level.

Governor Lamont Announces $70 Million in Appreciation Bonus Payments for Connecticut Child Care Workers
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration is releasing $70 million in state funding that will be used to provide bonus payments to the staff of child care providers in Connecticut who provide safe and nurturing care to the state’s youngest infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Individual bonuses will amount to $1,000 for full-time workers and $400 for part-time workers.

Governor Lamont and Connecticut Airport Authority Announce Aer Lingus Resuming Service at Bradley International Airport Following Pause Due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Governor Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Airport Authority today announced that Aer Lingus will resume its popular nonstop flight from Bradley International Airport to Dublin, Ireland beginning March 26, 2023, bringing transatlantic service back to Connecticut’s largest airport.

Russell-Tucker today announced that Carolyn Kielma, a science teacher at Bristol Eastern High School in Bristol, has been selected as Connecticut’s 2023 Teacher of the Year, the state’s highest recognition honoring extraordinary teachers.
