Governor-elect Ned Lamont today announced that he has nominated State Senator Tim Larson to lead the Office of Higher Education, which administers state financial aid programs, oversees the licensure and accreditation of the state’s independent colleges and universities, and regulates more than 150 postsecondary career schools.

Gov.-Elect Lamont Nominates Beth Bye to Lead the Office of Early Childhood
Governor-elect Ned Lamont today announced that he is nominating State Senator Beth Bye to lead the Office of Early Childhood. The office was created in 2013 to coordinate and improve the various early childhood programs in the state to create a cohesive high-quality early childhood system. Bye will complete her current term as a state senator, but will resign her member-elect status and will not be sworn in to a new term in the Connecticut State Senate.

Gov.-Elect Lamont Nominates James Rovella as Commissioner of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection
Governor-elect Ned Lamont today announced that he has nominated James Rovella as Commissioner of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP). In addition, Rovella has selected Regina Rush-Kittle as Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Management and Stavros Mellekas as State Police Colonel.

Governor-Elect Ned Lamont today announced that he has nominated Katie Dykes as Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). Dykes most recently served as Chair of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA).
