Governor Lamont Announces Approval of Moderna’s COVID-19 Vaccine in Connecticut
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has directed the Connecticut Department of Public Health to add Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine to the state’s ongoing vaccination program following a recommendation from the Governor’s COVID-19 Vaccine Advisory Group’s Science Subcommittee that it be authorized in the state.

Governor and Mrs. Lamont Host a Virtual Holiday Open House at the Governor’s Residence
To continue the spirit of the annual Holiday Open House at the Governor’s Residence, Governor Ned Lamont and First Lady Annie Lamont today released a video extending holiday greetings to the residents of Connecticut and taking them on a virtual tour of the house as it is decorated for the season.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed an executive order revising the guidelines for the travel advisory he enacted earlier this year in Connecticut amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in order to streamline its operations and align with recently modified guidance on the virus from the U.S Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The State Emergency Operations Center has been activated in a virtual capacity since Wednesday evening to monitor the impacts to the state and respond as necessary.

Governor Lamont Implements Tractor Trailer Ban Beginning 9PM Wednesday Due To Winter Storm
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that due to the severe winter storm that is anticipated to impact Connecticut beginning tonight, he is implementing a tractor trailer and tandem trailer travel ban on all limited access highways in the state beginning 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 and ending at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Governor Lamont Activates Connecticut’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol Effective Wednesday Afternoon
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that as a winter storm approaches and wind chills are expected to drop into the single digits this evening, he is directing Connecticut’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol to be activated beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16 and lasting through 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18.

Governor Ned Lamont today is congratulating Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Andrew N. Mais on his election as secretary treasurer of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Commissioner Mais will assume his additional duties with the NAIC beginning January 1, 2021.
