MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY ATTENDS ANNOUNCEMENT ON MAJOR INITIATIVE TO EXPAND LEARNING TIME

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, Ford Foundation President Luis Ubiñas, National Center on Time & Learning Chairman Chris Gabrieli, and other state and education leaders from around the country at an event announcing the participation of five states in a major new effort that will add significantly more time to the school year for tens of thousands of students in select public schools starting with the 2013 school year.
