DRS Reminder: Attorney Occupational Tax Return due January 15th

Those admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut in calendar year 2020 must electronically file CT Form 472, Attorney Occupational Tax Return, on or before January 15, 2021, even if you are exempt from the tax. If you are not exempt, payment of $565.00 is due on or before January 15, 2021. Failure to comply may result in penalty and interest charges.

Visit the DRS home page at portal.ct.gov/DRS, select "Featured Items" and then File Form 472 (#8) to file your return using the online DRS Taxpayer Service Center:

- Select the type of filing and enter both your Social Security Number and your Juris Number.
- If you are unsure of your Juris Number, visit the Judicial Branch's Attorney Firm Look-up and search your last name.
- You do not need to log in with a Connecticut Tax Registration Number and login information.

If filing for multiple attorneys, you can become a bulk filer and upload a spreadsheet with attorney information. To become a Third Party Bulk Filer, complete and submit CT Form TPG-138.
