Week of Dec. 16: Posting of Tax Year 2019 Forms Begins

For those beginning to plan for the upcoming filing season, the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) will begin posting updated forms, booklets, and instructions during the week of December 16, 2019, to the agency's website.

From the DRS home page, follow the 'Forms' link (left-hand navigation in grey box) to 'Current Year Forms' – be certain to look for a 2019 'Revised Date' and active links for forms and instructions you are looking to access. Forms are posted as they become available, so check back regularly.

DRS Forms Administration - which was recently re-established as a dedicated unit within the agency's Operations Division – annually produces and/or updates more than 350 tax products.

The State of Connecticut's online Taxpayer Service Center, a free and secure filing option, typically begins accepting individual income tax returns electronically around the third week of January, prior to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Modernized e-File Federal/State Filing (MeF) launch.

The deadline to file a state income tax return in Connecticut is Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
