Special Projects & Workgroups
In fulfilling its mission to ensure access to quality health care, the Office of Health Care Access (OHCA) explores new and innovative strategies, and often enlists the help of health care industry representatives and state policy makers to gather information and share views as part of workgroups and special projects. Participants in these initiatives assist OHCA in studying industry trends, exploring processes to improve Agency functions and operations, and gathering information to be incorporated into policy development. Special projects currently underway at OHCA include the following:
State Planning Grant: A grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). It will fund a study of Connecticut’s uninsured population and support the development of initiatives to provide the state’s uninsured with access to health insurance.
