The Office of Health Care Access strives to ensure that the citizens of Connecticut have access to a quality health care delivery system.
 
 
The major functions of OHCA include the administration of the Certificate of Need (CON) program; preparation of the Statewide Health Care Facilities and Services Plan; health care data collection, analysis and reporting; and hospital financial review and reporting.

On April 16, 2015, the Office of Health Care Access received a request for a CON Modification from MidState Medical Center and The Hospital of Central Connecticut. The request is to modify OHCA’s decision rendered under Docket Number 12-31775-CON. To review the information please click here: DN: 15-31991-MDF.

 

On April 13, 2015, Stamford Hospital submitted a Certificate of Need application for the acquisition of a CT scanner to be located in the new Emergency Department on the main campus. The application was assigned docket number 15-31990-CON.

 

On April 8, 2015, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital submitted a Certificate of Need application for the acquisition of a CT scanner for the Hungerford Emergency and Medical Care Center in Winsted. The application was assigned docket number 15-31989-CON.

 

On April 2, 2015, Walden Behavioral Care, LLC submitted a Certificate of Need application to establish an outpatient clinic, in Guilford, to treat eating disorders in male and female adults and adolescents.  The application was assigned docket number 15-31988-CON.

Statewide Health Care Facilities and Services Plan 2014 Supplement. This Plan is intended to be a blueprint for health care delivery in Connecticut, serving as a resource guide for health care facilities and services planning. While the 2012 Plan focused on standards, guidelines and methodologies related to Certificate of Need (CON) regulation, this Plan focuses on the unmet health care need of vulnerable and at-risk populations and the alignment of public health and health care initiatives that aim to address these needs.
