Request for Applications (RFA)
The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) is accepting applications for participation in the State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP). The intent of this notice is to identify eligible clinicians who are currently employed by a primary health care site, or whose intent is to become employed by such type of organization, in order to offer them awards of up to $30,000 for two consecutive years of service. Applications will be accepted from eligible health professionals and their sponsoring agencies.
SLRP is an initiative of the Department of Public Health to strengthen the health care workforce at the primary care level. The program provides financial incentives in the form of student loan repayments to health professionals employed by health care organizations belonging to the state’s safety network. Primary care sites selected to benefit from this program are located within a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area.
Awards are made upon availability of funds, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Application reviews are scheduled every month and are carried out in the same order as they are received. Once the available funds are exhausted, review of applications will be postponed until new funds are made available to the program.
