The DMV’s staff is working diligently to reduce its backlog and to provide critical services to essential businesses. Transactions are being completed as quickly as possible, in the order in which they are received. The average turnaround time is approximately 20 business days. The DMV appreciates the public’s patience as it navigates through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Obtaining a Duplicate Vessel Registration

A duplicate vessel registration may only be obtained by the owner of the vessel. In order to obtain the duplicate vessel registration, you may visit a DMV Hub or Limited Service Office with your vessel registration number, or write to the DMV at:

  • Vessel Registration Number
  • Your name and address
  • Your signature
  • Check or money order made payable to the "DMV."

Note: The fee to obtain a copy of an original registration application is $20. This can also be done by mail. Please see address listed above. A copy of your driver's license or a photo ID must be submitted with your written request.
