Resolving a License Suspension

Overview

All transactions must be conducted by mail or e-mail. If your license is suspended, you will be required to pay a $175.00 restoration fee. After you are reinstated, a restoration notice will be mailed to you.

You are not permitted to drive a motor vehicle until your driving privilege is restored and you have a valid driver's license or learner's permit in your possession. You may check your driver's license status online if you have an in state driver’s license. If you hold an identification card, learner’s permit or out of state license, you must wait for a restoration notice.

The normal processing time is 10 business days from the date the DMV's Driver Services Division receives your correspondence. Please provide your name, date of birth, and current mailing address with all correspondence. If your address has changed, you may complete and mail a change of address form to the address indicated on the form.
