The park grounds are open from 8 am to sunset, year round.

As of July 2022, there is no public access to the Fort at Fort Trumbull State Park, at this time.  The Park Grounds and Visitors' Center are open normal operating hours.  The Visitor Center Museum is open from the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Wednesday - Sunday.  The Visitor Center Museum is closed between Labor Day and Memorial Day Weekends. 

Access for fishing is permitted at any time.


Pets on a leash are permitted in the park. They are not allowed inside buildings, including the fort, or on the fishing pier.


The Fort Trumbull staff are actively seeking volunteers. Friendly, outgoing people who enjoy working with the public and have an interest in history and knowledge of the area are urged to apply. Please contact the park for information.
