Artist Fellowship Program - Now Accepting Applications

How To Apply

All applications must be submitted through COA's e-granting portal. Applicants requiring alternative formats should reach out to COA's Accessibility Coordinator, Tamara Dimitri by email at tamara.dimitri@ct.gov.

Work Samples

Applicants are required to either upload or provide links to artistic work samples.

All work samples MUST represent recent or in-progress work created by the applicant and the applicant MUST have primary artistic control of the work.

Applicants may choose only one (1) Work Sample Format. Select the one that best aligns with your work. 

Audio Link Provide a link to a work sample up to 5 minutes in length. 
Image Jpegs Upload a portfolio of up to 10 image files (size for each file not to exceed 4 MB). 
Literary Upload  Upload a literary work, do not exceed 25 pages (save as a PDF no larger than 5 MB and # your pages). 
Script Upload Upload a script, do not exceed 25 pages (save as a PDF no larger than 5 MB and # your pages). 
Video Link Provide a link to a work sample up to 5 minutes in length. 

Applicants will be asked to provide a brief overview of their selected work sample including why it was chosen as part of this submission. (up to 150 word count)

Reviewers are only required to review the Work Sample you provide as part of your application. They may review Supplemental Work Samples if they choose to explore your work further. All links should remain live and available to the reviewers through mid-February 2021. Audio and Video works samples may include a password for reviewer access.

  • a link to their website (if available),
  • links to professional social media sites,
  • and one additional link of your choice.

Narrative & Resume/Bio

  • Describe your current work and artistic practice. (up to 150 word count)
  • Upload a Resume/Bio (do not exceed 2 pages in length)
  • Indicate how the fellowship award will impact your artistic development and advance your career as a practicing artist. (up to 200 word count)
  • Briefly touch on how you anticipate using the funds if awarded an Artist Fellowship grant. (up to 100 word count)

Folk and Traditional Artists Narrative

  • Describe your current work as a folk & traditional artist. (up to 150 word count)
  • Upload a Resume/Bio (optional - no not exceed 2 pages in length)
  • Indicate how the fellowship award will impact your artistic development and advance your work as a folk & traditional artist within your community. (up to 200 word count)
  • Briefly touch on how you anticipate using the funds if awarded an Artist Fellowship grant. (up to 100 word count)
