DDS Outlines Governor’s Biennium Budget
Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Commissioner Peter H. O’Meara and Deputy Commissioner Kathryn du Pree outlined the department’s proposed budget on Thursday, February 17th in a taped video message. Connecticut’s FY 2012 – FY2013 Biennium Governor’s Budget was presented by Governor Dannel P. Malloy to a joint session of the Connecticut General Assembly on February 16th.
DDS’s total proposed allocation was over $1 billion dollars for each fiscal year in the Biennium Budget. Although some reductions were proposed, overall, the agency will be able to continue to serve individuals and their families who currently receive services. In addition, 367 individuals who are graduating from high school or aging out of services provided by the Department of Children and Families will also receive funding.
