The 2018-19 National Core Indicator Survey is underway

View the 2018-19 National Core Indicator (NCI) letter from Commissioner Scheff.  NCI is the primary way the Department gets to hear from individuals and families about their experience receiving supports and living their lives.  As we prepare for another successful survey cycle, it’s important to look back on what we learned from 2016-17 surveys.

  • 90% of people like their home, 45% of individuals are working and 91% like their paid job in the community, 93% feel services are helping them live a good life, 70% have friends who are not staff or family and 79% can see friends when they want, 94% had the people they wanted at their Individual Planning meeting, 70% chose or were aware they can change case managers

The NCI feedback is used by DDS  to better align  strategic activities, set improvement targets, and understand what is changing over time.  Thank you to all the DDS staff, providers, individuals and families who participate in this project and make it successful every year!
