Deborah Duval has served as the Director of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Waiver Policy, Planning and Evaluation Unit since January, 2006. Prior to this date Ms. Duval served the department as Resource Administrator for North Region for sixteen years and in supervisory and educational positions within the department for sixteen years. In these positions, Ms. Duval has had extensive contact with individuals served by the department and their families, private agencies providing services to clients of the department, and other state agencies.
Ms. Duval brings to her position a family perspective with her experience as legal guardian for three men who are clients of the department and her close friendship with two individuals who live in the community and also receive supports from DDS.
Ms. Duval received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Connecticut and her Master of Science degree in Special Education from Central Connecticut State University.
