This alert is to advise of the potential safety hazards of hot and cold water unit dispensers. There is a serious burn hazard associated with such devices when hot water is instantly dispensed, due to the hot water temperature ranges of 135 to 180 degrees and higher.

DMR does not recommend use of hot and cold water unit dispensers. If such units are present in any client service and support locations, extreme caution should be taken regarding their access and independent use. Precautions must include a documented procedure for access to, education of and supervision of individuals using such units.
