Food Recall Advisory
Food Recall Advisory: On July 24, 2014, The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health announced Wawona Packing Company of Cutler, CA is voluntarily recalling certain lots of whole peaches (white and yellow), nectarines (white and yellow), plums and pluots packed between June 1, 2014 through July 12,2014 due to the potential of the products being contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Wawona Packing has notified retailers of the specific lots being recalled. No other products are impacted by this recall. Although no illnesses have been linked to the recalled products to date, the recall was initiated due to the serious and sometimes fatal consequences of listeriosis in the elderly, very young children, and persons with compromised immune systems. Some of this produce may have been distributed to food stores in Connecticut.
