RE: CT Dept. of Public Health Reports a Food Recall.  Warns of Salmonella Risk with Certain Cereal Products.

SAFETY ALERT

This Safety Alert is to advise of a potential health hazard related to the consumption of certain cereal products.  The Malt-O-Meal Company, a Minneapolis, MN firm, is voluntarily recalling its unsweetened puffed rice and unsweetened puffed wheat cereals because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.  No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product.

See the attached documents provided by the Connecticut Dept. of Public Health.  Products identified in the attached documents may be contaminated with Salmonella.
Please ensure those responsible for food shopping and preparation are aware of this safety alert.  Also review your food stores to determine whether or not the identified products are present.  If the identified products are present, address appropriately.
