RE: FOOD RECALL ADVISORY:  FDA Warns Against Consuming Mussel Products from Bantry Bay Seafood
FOOD RECALL ADVISORY

This Food Recall Advisory is to advise that the US Food and Drug Administration and the CT Department of Consumer Protection Department of Consumer Protection are urging consumers to avoid consuming certain frozen cooked mussel products made by Bantry Bay Seafoods.   These products, distributed in Connecticut, may be contaminated with azaspiracid toxins, a group of naturally occurring marine toxins known to cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps.  These products have been carried by Shaw's supermarkets in Connecticut.
See the attached files provided by the CT Department of Consumer Protection.
Please ensure those responsible for food shopping and preparation are aware of this safety alert. Also review your food stores to determine whether or not the identified products are present. If the identified products are present, address appropriately.
