• Mainframe Platforms

  Mainframe computing services consist of the hosting and maintenance of customer applications on mainframe servers at the Groton, Connecticut (GDC) or Springfield, Massachusetts (SDC), secure data processing centers.

• Making a Freedom of Information (FOI) Request Through DAS

  The Connecticut Freedom of Information Act gives you the right to obtain records from DAS and attend meetings of all public agencies with certain exceptions.

• Marshal Commission, State

  The State Marshal Commission is an Executive Branch commission operating within the Department of Administrative Services with independent decision making authority.

• Master Insurance Program Housing Authority

  The Department of Administrative Services Master Insurance Program offers all Housing Authorities across Connecticut the opportunity to obtain required insurance coverage through a sole source.

• Metropolitan Area Network

  The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) group builds and supports the State of Connecticut Metropolitan Area Network which connects 18 large sites in the greater Hartford area with metro Ethernet connections between 1G and 20G speeds. This connectivity serves 35 state agencies with access to the State’s Data Centers located in geographically diverse areas of the state.

• Multi-factor Authentication

  Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a method of computer access control in which a user is granted access only after successfully presenting several separate pieces of evidence to an authentication mechanism.

• National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS), Fire Data Reports and Incident Counts

  The Office of Education and Data Management (OEDM) is responsible for maintaining Connecticut's statistics for the U.S. Fire Administration’s (USFA) database for the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS). The NFIRS data provides fire information at the local, state and national levels, and assists fire service agencies and public officials in identifying fire-related problems and trends.

• Network Management and Support

  The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) supports numerous network infrastructures. The ENS support methodology consists of configuring network infrastructure devices with management protocols and through the use of centralized servers collect alerts, alarms, events and traps that report the network status.

• Networking Services (DNS, DHCP)

  The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) group supports the provisioning of key networking services including Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) for customers on both the state’s intranet and in the external facing application domains.

• Office of Grants Administration

  The Office of Grants Administration performs two major functions, the administration of school construction grants and the architectural plan review procedures required for said grants.
