Commitment to Connecticut Small and Minority Owned Businesses

National Small Business Week 2023 occurs between April 30 - May 6, and is an important annual event recognizing the contributions of small businesses to our economy and communities. Here in the State of Connecticut, we are proud to have a vibrant community of small businesses that create jobs, drive economic growth, and enrich our communities.

At the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (CT DAS), we play an important role in supporting and certifying small and minority owned businesses in our state. We recognize the unique challenges that small businesses face and we are committed to providing the resources and support they need to thrive.

As part of our commitment to small businesses, CT DAS offers a certification program that provides small and minority-owned businesses (SBE/MBE) with greater access to state contracts and procurement opportunities. Our certification program helps to level the playing field for small businesses by ensuring that they have equal access to these opportunities.

We are proud to have over 1,800 certified small and minority-owned businesses registered with the State of Connecticut; 95 registered in April 2023. Our support for small businesses goes beyond just certification. We also offer a range of resources and services to help small businesses grow and succeed. DAS Business Services team partners with several Small Business advocacy organizations offering webinars, tradeshows and hands on certification workshops throughout the state. As part of National Small Business Week, DAS is proud to recognize the important contributions of small businesses to our state and our economy. We are committed to supporting these businesses and providing the resources they need to grow and succeed.
