What courses are approved for a coaching permit?

Approved courses for a 5-year coaching permit

 

The Connecticut Coaching Education Program is an online source for continuing education units (CEUs), concussion courses, and other coaching education. Provided by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC), the site provides access to the required concussion module and other continuing education.

Additional Approved Courses

The courses and institutions listed below meet the requirement of three semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited institution, or 45 clock hours of instruction including the following topics:

  • Legal and safety aspects of coaching children and adolescents
  • Medical aspects of coaching children and adolescents
  • Principles and practices of coaching children and adolescents
  • Child and adolescent sports psychology


    CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY:

    PE 101-Legal Liability (1 credit); and
    PE 102 Medical Aspects (1 credit); or PE 217-Care and Treatment of Athletic Injuries (3 credits); and
