Governor Lamont Directs State Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of State Representative Linda Orange

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing the flag of the State of Connecticut to be lowered to half-staff in honor of State Representative Linda Orange (D-Colchester, Lebanon, Windham, Mansfield), who passed away today. State flags should be lowered beginning immediately until sunset on the date of interment, which has not yet been determined.

“Linda Orange truly loved serving the people of her district – it was her passion and she always kept her constituents at the forefront of all her efforts,” Governor Lamont said. “She had an undeniably witty sense of humor and a charming character that brightened even the gloomiest of days. In particular, she will be remembered as being one of the most ardent champions advocating on behalf of our state’s first responders. She did lasting good work for Connecticut, and she will be missed.”

The Office of the Governor will send out a notification when flags should be returned to full-staff.
