Privileged/Professional Visit Contact Information

All privileged/professional visits shall be reasonably accommodated. A valid driver's license and a professional credential shall be required for any professional not on the visitor's list. Please note that the professional credentials that are presented will be checked against the index of attorneys admitted to the Connecticut bar that is posted on the State Judicial Branch website. 

The pre-scheduling of professional visits is strongly encouraged. Privileged and professional visits may be accommodated with private visits, if appropriate. When a questionable circumstance arises regarding accommodation of the professional visitor, the shift supervisor, in consultation with the Duty Officer, shall personally investigate the situation using face to face contact, and obtain any additional information necessary to try to accommodate the visit. If a privileged/professional visit is denied, the Shift Supervisor or higher authority shall complete an incident report, in accordance with Administrative Directive 6.6, Reporting of Incidents. Stating the reason(s) for the denial; the incident shall be reported as a Class 3 incident.

Provided is a list of primary and secondary telephone contacts for each DOC facility with the name of the staff person responsible for scheduling privileged and professional visits. In addition, the facility count times are provided.

Bridgeport Correctional Center

Privileged/Professional visits are held Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. - 10:15 a.m., 12:45 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.- 10:30 p.m. All visitors must sign in at the new Center Lobby and proceed to the designated building. For those inmates in Protective Custody the hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m., 10:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.  We encourage you to schedule your visit via email: Bridgeport.ProfVisit@ct.gov.

Brooklyn Correctional Institution

Cheshire Correctional Institution

This facility regularly accommodates privileged/professional visits during the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. seven days a week. However, a visitor may request such a visit outside of this time period and shall be accommodated as permitted by facility operations.

Corrigan Correctional Center

Privileged/Professional visits are conducted seven days a week upon request from the visitor. Such visits are avoided, if possible, during count and chow times.

Enfield Correctional Institution

As of January 23, 2018 this facility has been closed, due to a reduction in the inmate population.

 

Garner Correctional Institution

Facility policy attempts to accommodate any and all reasonable requests within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. If a visitor requires a visit outside of the above hours, such visits are reasonably accommodated per facility operations.  We encourage you to schedule your visit via email: Garner.ProfVisit@ct.gov.

Attorney visits are allowed Monday - Sunday between the hours of 8:45 A.M. - 10 P.M.   If the inmate count has started, we request that, if possible, the visit take place after the count clears.  Any visit outside of this time frame should be approved by a supervisor or higher authority.

Privileged/Professional (non-attorney) visits are Monday through Friday 8:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.  We encourage you to schedule your visit via email: Hartford.ProfVisit@ct.gov.

Privileged/Professional visits are held Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.. Such visits shall be accommodated within reasonable hours. Privileged visits (attorney and as defined in Administrative Directive 10.6 Inmate Visits) are allowed Monday - Sunday between the hours of 8:45 A.M. – 9:45 P.M.   If the inmate count has started, we request that, if possible, the visit take place after the count clears.  Any visit outside of this time frame should be approved by a Unit Administrator or designee.

Professional visits (non-attorney, as defined in Administrative Directive 10.6 Inmate Visits) are held Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., 1:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. We encourage you to schedule your visit via email: NewHaven.ProfVisit@ct.gov .

Privileged/Professional visits are scheduled during regular visiting hours in the visiting room. Separate meeting rooms are sectioned off for privacy.
