BLACK ROCK STATE PARK
The Black Rock State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 24 through October 14.   After September 1, standard campsites are available for walk-in registration during the week (Sunday-Thursday nights), and advance reservations for Friday and Saturday nights.  
Cabins are available for rent Friday and Saturday nights from May 24 through August 31.

  • 78 wooded and open sites. Dumping station, bathrooms, showers, fishing, swimming. No pets. 
  • ALCOHOL PROHIBITED.  Please do not bring alcoholic beverages.
  • $17/night/campsite for CT residents plus a Processing Fee 
  • $27/night/campsite for non-CT residents plus a Processing Fee

DEVIL'S HOPYARD STATE PARK

The Devil's Hopyard Campground will open for the 2024 season from April 12 through October 14.
The water at Devil's Hopyard State Park is unsafe for drinking; no running water is available.  Please plan to bring your own water when camping or visiting the park.

HAMMONASSET BEACH STATE PARK
The Hammonasset Beach State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 24 through October 14.
Cabins are available to rent for a 7 night minimum (Sunday to Sunday only).
  • 1288 Boston Post Road (Route 1), Madison
  • William F. Miller Campground. 558 open sites. Concession, dumping station, bathrooms, showers. Saltwater swimming and fishing. Individual fireplaces not provided but may be rented from the camp store.  No pets.

The Hopeville Pond State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from April 12 through October 14.

The Housatonic Meadows State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 24 through September 2.

  • 61 sites in rustic setting near Housatonic River. Dumping station, bathrooms, showers. No swimming. No pets.

KETTLETOWN STATE PARK

The Kettletown State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 24 through October 14.  After September 1, standard campsites are available for walk-in registration during the week (Sunday-Thursday nights), and advance reservations for Friday and Saturday nights.  
Cabins are available for rent Friday and Saturday nights from May 24 through August 31.

  • 1400 Georges Hill Road, Southbury
  • 61 partly wooded and open sites. Dumping station, bathrooms, showers, fishing. Trailers and RV's may not exceed 28' in length. No pets.

The Lake Waramaug State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 24 through September 2.
Cabins are available for rent on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Macedonia Brook State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 24 through October 7.  

  • 159 Macedonia Brook Road, Kent
  • 51 sites in rustic setting. Stream fishing, excellent hiking, no swimming. No pets. Early season is designated as rustic camping only - no bathrooms or running water available. Portable toilets available.

The Mashamoquet Brook Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 3 through October 14.

  • 18 wooded sites. Portable toilets. Fishing, hiking available. Swimming not currently available. Drinking water is not available prior to Memorial Day or after Labor Day. No pets.

The Wolf Den Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 24 through September 2.

  • 147 Wolf Den Drive, Pomfret, CT
  • 35 open sites. Bathrooms, showers. Fishing, hiking available.  Swimming not currently available. No pets.

ROCKY NECK STATE PARK

The Rocky Neck State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 17 through September 27.  After September 1, standard campsites are available for walk-in registration only (no advance reservations are accepted).  
Cabins are available to rent for a 7 night minimum (Sunday to Sunday) through September 22.  Advance reservations are required for cabins.

SALT ROCK CAMPGROUND

The Salt Rock State Park Campground will open for the 2024 season from May 10 through October 14.

  • 173 Scotland Road (Rte. 97), Baltic, 06330
  • Exit 83 off I-395.  Go left, follow Rte. 97 through Baltic.  2 miles north on the left, just past Salt Rock Road.
  • 71 tent and recreational vehicle (RV) sites. Utilities to some sites, bathrooms, dumping station, showers.
  • Fishing allowed.
  • Two pets per site permitted. 
  • Nightly Rates for CT residents:
    • $33/night for a tent site plus a Processing Fee
    • $37/night for a site with electricity and water plus a Processing Fee
    • $40/night for a site with electricity, water, and sewer plus a Processing Fee
    • Rates for non-CT residents are $45, $48, and $52 per night plus a Processing Fee.

STATE FOREST CAMPING AREAS

AMERICAN LEGION STATE FOREST

The Austin Hawes Campground in American Legion State Forest will open for the 2024 season from April 12 through October 14.

  • West River Road, Pleasant Valley
  • Austin F. Hawes Memorial Campground, midway between Pleasant Valley and Riverton on West River Road. 30 sites in pine woods. Dumping station, bathrooms, showers, fishing. No swimming. Two pets per site permitted. *Early season is designated as rustic camping only - no bathrooms, showers or running water available.  Portable toilets available.  Water is typically available by May 1st, depending on weather.

PACHAUG STATE FOREST

Pachaug State Forest offers two campgrounds - Green Falls and Mount Misery.  Both campgrounds will open for the 2024 season from April 12 through October 14.  

Green Falls Campground in Pachaug State Forest 

  • Green Falls Campground, off Route 138, 3 miles east of Voluntown. 18 wooded sites. Pond fishing, swimming. Two pets per site permitted.

  • ALCOHOL PROHIBITED.  Please do not bring alcoholic beverages.

Mount Misery Campground in Pachaug State Forest  

    • Mt. Misery Campground, off route 49, north of Voluntown. 22 wooded sites. Stream fishing, swimming nearby. Two pets per site permitted.

    • ALCOHOL PROHIBITED.  Please do not bring alcoholic beverages.

    HORSE CAMP AREAS

    The following campgrounds have been designed exclusively for equestrian use.

    Camping is offered for riders who can provide their own mounts.  Horse rentals are not available.

    NATCHAUG STATE FOREST

    The Equestrian Campground at Natchaug State Forest will be open for the 2024 season from April 12 through Thanksgiving.

    • 109 Kingsbury Road, Eastford
    • Silvermine Horse Camp. 15 wooded sites. Basic facilities only - campers are responsible for cleaning sites and carrying out all trash. Water is not available at this location.  Pet permitted. No fee.  Available on a first-come, first-served basis.

    The Equestrian Campground at Pachaug State Forest will be open for the 2024 season from April 12 through October 14.  Sites are available on a first come - first served basis.
