Procedures for Municipalities to Surplus Vehicles

Overview

The Department of Administrative Services, Surplus Property Program is the legally authorized agent in the State for the disposition of all usable property that a state agency deems surplus to its operating needs, including vehicles.

This process outlines how municipalities can surplus their vehicles when the vehicle has reached the end of its useful life or when the vehicle is deemed surplus to the municipal needs.

Please Note:  Municipalities are not required to use the State Surplus Program procedures, but they are available for Municipal use as a courtesy.
