State Employees IT Communication Devices

Overview

The Department of Administrative Services Bureau of Enterprise Systems and Technology’s (DAS/BEST) Unified Communications Division maintains the computing devices that Executive Branch agencies use to conduct business. The types of devices that agencies connect to the State’s data network include:

  • Desktops and Laptops

 
Computers and monitors using the Microsoft Windows operating system. Some devices are managed with a centralized deployment, update and inventory application that is maintained within the State’s secure Data Center environment.

  • Tablets

 
Hybrid laptops and tablet computers.

  • Software

 
The DAS/BEST Unified Communications Division maintains the procurement, management and maintenance of acceptable software programs. This includes the development and maintenance of the State’s contracts for software acquisition.

  • Collaboration

 
The DAS/BEST Unified Communications Division provides instant messaging services to select Executive Branch agencies.

  • Mobile Email

 
The DAS/BEST Unified Communications Division maintains a mobile application enabling secure access to the State’s email service.
